Couponese

Couponers use a variety of acronyms that don't make much sense to the beginner.  Here are some of the common ones you might come across.

OYNO = On Your Next Order
Q = Coupon
OOP = Out of Pocket
ECB = Money to be used on next purchase at CVS (expires in one month)
RR = Money to be used on next purchase at Walgreen's (expires in 2 weeks)
BOGO = Buy one Get One Free
YMMV = Your Manager Might Vary
GC = Gift Card
MIR = Mail in rebate
UPC = Universal Product Code
Man = Manufacturer Coupon
Store Coupon = Coupon for specific store (Target has their own coupons that can be used with mfr's Q)

Coupon inserts arriving in sunday paper

RP = Red Plum
SS = Smart Source
P & G = Proctor Gamble (first or last sunday of month only)
GM = General Mills

Peelies = Coupons attached to the product
Tearpad = Coupons usually attached to the display
Catalina = Prints out after your purchase usually good on next purchase
Printable = Coupons available to print on the internet

Free toothbrush at CVS

Call your neighbor or go dig through their recycling bins because the 9/26 Proctor and Gamble Insert has a coupon for $10 off the electric Oral B Vitality toothbrush.  CVS has it on sale this week for $23 and you will receive $13 ECB.  ECB stands for Extra Care Bucks and it is money to be used on your next purchase.  So essentially the toothbrush is free.  So $23 - $10 coupon = $13 OOP.  Now if you're fortunate enough to be on their mailing list you should have received a coupon for $4 off a $20 purchase.  Subtract $4 off of the $13 OOP and you're now down to $9 OOP and you will still receive a $13 ECB.  Essentially, it's like getting paid $4 to take the toothbrush out the door.  Limit of 2 per household.

p.s.  If they're out at the store ask for a raincheck.
